Brad’s been a keen gardener since his youth. This passion lead him into the garden industry where he’s worked for over 25 years, in both wholesale and retail. His experience enables us to source a broad range of quality and on trend products to offer our customers.

Favourite plants: “There are too many to choose from!”

With a background in Visual Arts, focussing on Photography and Graphic Design, Jeff’s got a keen eye for colour, style and design. His plant passion lies with indoor plants & pots, and often falls into the trap of having one too many pots and not enough plants to fill them, or vice-versa.

Favourite plant: Loropetalum Plum Gorgeous.

For over 16 years, Jan’s been a constant at Valley Road Nursery. Her broad knowledge of plants and vast database of local knowledge is a credit to her and certainly comes in handy, especially when undertaking garden consultations. Her current passion is native plants!

Favourite plants: Hydrangeas, Dahlias and Maples.

Our head greenlife buyer extraordinaire, Jaclyn, joined the Valley Road Nursery team in November 2021. The qualified horticulturalist, with 20 years of experience in the garden industry, has a keen interest in plant diversity and supporting local growers, which is reflected in the range of stock available.

Favourite plants: Forest Pansy.

One summery day in January 2022, Lizzie bounced into the nursery and introduced herself to the team, from the get-go we knew she’d be a perfect match. The freshly minted horticulturalist with a bubbly personality to boot, throws herself into everything with infectious enthusiasm and strives to learn at every opportunity.

Favourite plants: Billy Buttons, Strawflowers & Salvias.

Ruby joined the Valley Road Nursery team in September of 2022, with over 10 years of experience in the garden industry. A qualified horticulturalist with her own garden maintenance business, Ruby’s energetic personality brings a light and friendly pop to the nursery.

Favourite plants: “Anything cottagey!”

The infectiously upbeat Tam joined the Valley Road Nursery team in November of 2022. With a background in personal training and injury rehabilitation, you could say Tam’s a bit of a people person and is always ready to lend a hand when needed.

Favourite plant: Ligularia Reniformis – The Tractor Seat plant.

Our youngest team member, Jensen, joined us in August 2022. Although the high school student is a newcomer to the garden industry, we suspect his grandmother’s passion for gardening may have rubbed off on him a little.

Favourite plant: Daphne.

Around 13 years ago, Coco wandered into Valley Road Nursery and decided to stay. We’re not 100% certain of her breed, but we suspect the much-beloved nursery cat is a Chantilly-Tiffany. Coco enjoys lazing on the pavers in the warm sun, lounging on the front counter hoping for pats and is loyal to the Fancy Feast® poultry range of cat food.

Favourite plant: Cat grass.
